This job opening will support manufacturing and development of parts and sub assemblies for semiconductor capital equipment. The engineer for this position will head development, qualification and production support of electron beam welded products. The welding engineer will be working with internal and external customers to develop new EB welded products, release those to production and support them throughout their production life cycle.
Develop, weld processes and parameters for electron beam welding
Provide production support for e-beam welding process
Work with customers to assist with the design and manufacturability of welded product
Use destructive and non-destructive techniques to verify weld parameters and certify weld quality
Assist quality and manufacturing engineering in root cause analysis
Design and develop e-beam welding tooling for high volume manufacturing.
Implement process control to ensure minimum part to part variability
Explore ebeam process capabilities as they apply to surface technologies and additive manufacturing
Bachelor's degree in welding engineering
Hands-on experience in welding and testing of welded assemblies
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Good understanding of welding processes is required
Hands on E-beam welding experience is desirable but not necessary
Tooling design experience for welded assemblies to reduce part distortion and improve part to part variability is required
Good understanding of weld strength testing methodologies is required.
