ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

THERMa-PUR

  • Assembles specified quantities of raw materials per work instructions to be mixed to produce sheet products.
  • Works from formula cards/ work instructions and uses  a scale when weighing out proper proportions
  • Follows production controls or management schedules for preparing materials.
  • Records and enters vendor lot numbers and/ or identification numbers for raw materials as required.
  • Prints batch control tags and attaches to appropriate containers as required to assure traceability.
  • Generates computer or manual records as requested.
  • Inspects and cleans containers before using.
  • Operates mixing equipment to produce a slurry per specifications.
  • Works from specs to add various materials at proper time.
  • Prepares and forms sheets as per instructions.
  • Place sheets on rack place in oven to remove water from sheets
  •  Prepares and delivers sheets to next operation.
  • Inspects finished molded pieces, this inspection will involve visual and/or the use of some form of gauge(s) as required.

Material Handler/ Sheet Finisher

  •  Performs fork lift truck and material handling duties for High Pressure Sheet.
  • Works to a pre-planned and established routine on a daily basis whereby all materials and stocking needs  associated with the mixers, sheeters, finishing lines, trash, recycling, powder room and raw material locations are set-up and continually maintained so that the process flow of goods is assured.
  • Loads and unloads trucks, transports materials from area to area during various stages of productions cycles, weights material, counts material, adds and removes material from inventory storage and fills requisitions from warehouse.
  • Reworks and re-handles sheet material after initial disposition of product has been made.  This function involves the hand sorting, stacking, separating and transferring of sheet goods.
  • Operates forklift truck in a safe manner, regularly checks truck for maintenance problems, takes truck to factory garage for maintenance as required and maintains truck in good working order on a day to day basis including proper set-up on re-charger.
  • Maintains and completes all written records and reports as required by each duty performed.
  • Performs a variety of finishing operations and all styles of compressed gasketing sheet for shipment.
  • Works from planners schedule to process orders as scheduled unless otherwise requested.
  • Sets up, adjusts, and operates various pieces of equipment such as printing line branders, sheet flipper, calendars, conveyors, anti-stick and Teflon coat applicators, drying oven, in-line cutters, and Seybold guillotine.
  • Performs rolling and typing of finished sheet and/or stacks finished sheet on skids depending on shipping instructions.
  • Performs shrink-wrapping, labeling, strapping and other preparatory duties for shipment of product.
  • Performs transfer of sheet from floor to table, combined with hand rolling of sheet or use of rolling machine.  These are essential requirements of this position and apply to all styles.
  • Performs quality control duties that include, but are not limited to , the visual inspection of the sheet  for defects, measuring of the sheet so as to verify it meets prescribed tolerance specifications and the written retention or charting of any data as related to inspection functions.
  • Performs all duties associated with applying branding ink to sheet including handling of ink, dispensing of waste, cleaning branding mats and storing of mats.
  • Assists Sheeter Operators in terms of removing sheet stock away from sheeters and putting empty stack tables in place.
  • Works closely with QA Auditors to insure that product released to next department has passed Physical Property Testing
  • Works from a reject sheet stack and physically handles each rejected sheet to verify reason for reject.
  • Keeps records of reasons for rejection.  May work to salvage rejected sheet to point of acceptability through use of Seybold Cutter.
  • Works closely with Engineering and QC in the development of quality standards.
  • Re-handles sheet material after disposition of product has been made.  Required to hand sort, stack, separate and transfer sheet material.
  • Keeps written records on all production performed and performs data entry as required.
  • Performs physical tests as required

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Keeps work area clean.
  • Performs other jobs as assigned by Supervisor.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:   

  • High school degree or equivalent required
  • Fork lift truck license.
  • Requires extensive knowledge of the product flow requirements within HPS, along with running knowledge of facility layout.
  • Basic computer skills
  • Previous manufacturing experience preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

POSTURE:    Standing, climbing stairs, reaching, pulling of sheet material, pushing                                                         

MAXIMUM WEIGHT TO BE LIFTED:      35 lbs (anything over 35 lbs requires two people or mechanical lifting device)

FREQUENCY PER SHIFT:              40 %   

REPETITIVE MOTION TASKS:      pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping

DURATION OF SHIFT:        70%                

OTHER: Dust mask use recommended when performing certain assignments within this job classification,  

                    Use of scales, snap gauges         

WORKING CONDITIONS: 

  • Heat, cold, dust, anti stick solutions, branding ink, outdoor weather conditions
