ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

 Blend room

  • Properly weighs and mixes material for use in sheet former
  • Operates mixer to blend materials per work instructions
  • Performs 100% visual inspection while processing material.
  • Moves all finished work to proper center, records production, and signs off each completed router step.
  • Works with Supervision and Engineering to assure product master correctness, including trial runs, data gathering and verbal communication as to progress status.
  • Performs material handling activities such as placing of various stock in racks, delivery of materials, obtaining raw materials for next order, etc.
  • Cleans and lubricates machines, empties dust collectors and/or refuse containers.
  • Operates walk behind lift truck

 Pre-former

  • Performs 100% visual inspection while processing material.
  • Works with Supervision and Engineering to assure product master correctness, including trial runs, data gathering and verbal communication as to progress status.
  • Moves all finished work to proper center, records production, and signs off each completed router step.
  • Operate pre-form machine per work instructions
  • Cleans and lubricates machines, empties dust collectors and/or refuse containers.

Sheet Former

  • Performs 100% visual inspection while processing material.
  • Works with Supervision and Engineering to assure product master correctness, including trial runs, data gathering and verbal communication as to progress status.
  • Moves all finished work to proper center, records production, and signs off each completed router step.
  • Operate sheet former machine per work instructions
  • Cleans and lubricates machines, empties dust collectors and/or refuse containers.

 Calender

  • Performs 100% visual inspection while processing material.
  • Works with Supervision and Engineering to assure product master correctness, including trial runs, data gathering and verbal communication as to progress status.
  • Moves all finished work to proper center, records production, and signs off each completed router step.
  • Calender per specifications and work instructions
  • Cleans the calendar prior to running, and during operation as necessary.
  • Responsible for calender setup, length, width and thickness.
  • Direct crew for calendaring tight-tolerance sheets +/-0.002”
  • Cleans and lubricates machines, empties dust collectors and/or refuse containers.

 Oven

  • Performs 100% visual inspection while processing material.
  • Vacuums oven rack before each use.
  • Loading material to curing and sintering ovens and unloading material after removal from oven.
  • Operates oven per work instructions and procedure specifications.

 Finishing operations

  • Performs 100% visual inspection while processing material.
  • Works with Supervision and Engineering to assure product master correctness, including trial runs, data gathering and verbal communication as to progress status.
  • Moves all finished work to proper center, records production, and signs off each completed router step.
  • Preheats blanks in oven prior to molding
  • Loads hot blanks into mold, close mold and close press
  • Lower press, remove and open mold, remove molded part. 
  • Performs center punch and final cut after molding.
  • Operates and sets up all equipment in the area including the clicker press and SAMCO press.
  • Prepares sintered Gylon/Diaphragm material for press flat molding
  • Places material on molding trays/ tables per job specifications.
  • Remove tray from cold press to roller for removal of pressed flat diaphragm material. Final trim parts per the appropriate work instructions or finished part specification.  Includes but not limited to punch and die cutting of parts, and operation of OD hand trimmer.
  • Properly clean, label, and package finished parts per the appropriate work instructions.
  • Performs various finishing operations (manual or machine) on diaphragm in order to prepare them for shipment.
  • Moves all finished work to proper center and records production and signs off each completed router step.
  • Cleans and lubricates machines, empties dust collectors and refuse containers.
  • Material use must be in accordance with first in / first out inventory practices.
  • Selects orders to be run in accord with promise date or established priority.
  • Regulates temperatures by adjusting control unit as per spec. 
  • Checks and documents dimensions periodically throughout run.
  • Performs material handling activities such as placing of various stock in racks, delivery of materials, obtaining raw materials for next order, etc.
  • Cleans and stores molds. Performs Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) as required.
  • Operates walk behind lift truck.
  • Performs branding/stamping of diaphragm parts.

 OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Must be able use various measuring devices; tape measure, snap gauges, etc..
  • Ability to troubleshoot manufacturing issues pertaining to out-of spec product.
  • Collects data and provides input to supervision and/or Engineering regarding proper data codes, durometer checks, stock availability and mold conditions
  • Trouble shoots process as corrective action when defects occur with product/ assists and suggests ways to correct defects
  • Competent in Excel and Oracle production reporting functions.
  • Ability to read and interpret product drawings
  • Adheres to all plant safety guidelines
  • Keeps work area in 5S condition.
  • Performs other jobs as assigned by Supervisor

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:    

  • High school degree or equivalent diploma
  • Good attention to detail
  • Previous manufacturing experience preferred 

POSTURE: standing, climbing, reaching                                                            

MAXIMUM WEIGHT TO BE LIFTED: 35 lbs ( over 35 lbs requires two people or mechanical lifting device)

FREQUENCY PER SHIFT:  10%

REPETITIVE MOTION TASKS: pushing/pulling, hand motion, climbing step ladder/stairs

 DURATION OF SHIFT:       60 – 75 %

 OTHER: potential burns, cuts, finger pinching                                                                                              

 WORKING CONDITIONS:   heat, dust
