STEMCO is highly invested in providing valuable opportunities for students who are interested in pursuing a career in Computer Science Engineering. Our internship opportunity is aimed at bridging the gap between classroom curriculum and hands-on application.

This 12-week internship offers students the opportunity to work alongside a highly skilled professional who will provide mentorship, training, and project assignments to create knowledge application. You will also attend development training to enhance your professional skills alongside your intern co-hort.

Participation in the internship program requires you to be currently enrolled in an academic program related to the field of study the internship is designed. Your work location will be dependent upon the scope of work you are applying to pursue, we will discuss this in more detail during the recruitment process.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a new cross platform cell phone application
  • Develop app code to interface with a Bluetooth 5 Long Range sensor.
  • Support programming process line computers (VB.NET using Visual Studio)

Minimum qualifications: 

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Computer Science or IT related degree with anticipated graduation date of December 2021- Summer 2022
  • Must have transportation to commute to work on-site at the Stemco Longview Texas location

Preferred qualifications: 

  • Experience in cross platform cellphone application development
  • Experience using Visual Studio while coding in Visual Basic

Potential skills to be enhanced:

  • Engineering tools – Visual Studio for VB.NET and Cell phone application IDE (TBD)
  • Ability to work as a team member, and to collaborate with others to help resolve challenges.
  • Ability to learn new technical skills.
  • Ability to utilize your creativity to design, implement and verify your own software code.
  • Ability to challenge yourself to find and implement solutions to the software challenges presented by the development process
