Title: Automatic Winder- Skilled Machine Operator 

General Summary: Performs light industrial manufacturing as an Automatic Winding Machine Operator in a metal gasket manufacturing plant. This individual must have the ability to accomplish all tasks with little or no supervision. The right individual will have a fantastic opportunity to mature and grow with the company. 

Major Functions: 

Primary responsibility will be to operate the automatic winding machine that produces metal wound gaskets.  

  • Elevated level of Mechanical aptitude. 

  • Performs and records quality checks as required. 

  • Maintains a clean work area, works in a safe manner, and performs other tasks as directed by production management. 

  • Ability to analyze, troubleshoot, all situations that could arise. Apply commonsense understanding to conduct detailed but uninvolved written and/or oral instructions. 

  • Monitor machine cycles to avoid equipment issues or failures 

  • Review orders and drawings to verify product specifications 

  • Calculate and record daily production numbers 

  • Performs other duties as assigned. 

Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

Experience: 1 to 2 years’ experience as a machine operator in a manufacturing environment is favorable.

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to conduct detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. 

§ Oral communication-the individual speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations. Ability to read and interpret documentation such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. 

§ Mathematical Skills-Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. 

§ Quality management-the individual looks for ways to improve and promote quality and demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness. 

§ Planning/organizing-the individual prioritizes and plans work activities, uses time efficiently and develops realistic action plans. 

§ Adaptability-the individual adapts to changes in the work environment, manages competing demands and can deal with a frequent change, delays or unexpected events. 

§ Dependability-the individual is consistently at work and on time, follows instructions, responds to management direction, and solicits feedback to improve performance. 

§ Safety and security-the individual actively promotes and personally observes safety and security procedures and uses equipment and materials properly.
