The Shipping and Receiving Associate is responsible for preparing shipping documents, packing of customer parts per specifications, unpacking of shipment deliveries and maintaining records of incoming and outgoing shipments.

  • Monitor shipment status
  • Provide tracking information to sales
  • Packs and ships customer orders according to customer requirements; orders are physically packed correctly and transacted correctly in the ERP system
  • Generates appropriate Shipping and Receiving documents
  • Coordinates freight and shipping logistics as needed per customer
  • Interacts with various online customer and logistics portals (FedEx, UPS, DHL) as well as with multiple internal web based computer systems
  • Receives incoming materials from vendors, suppliers or other warehouses and transacts accurately in ERP system
  • Verify the quantity and type of each received item by matching it with work order
  • Maintains a clean and organized work space utilizing 5S principles
  • Rejects damaged items and contact vendors to inform them about the quantity of such items
  • Maintains effective communication within the Shipping and Receiving Team as well as cross functionally with other groups (Inside Sales, Finance, Operations), responding to inquiries about customer orders and providing status of delivery and/or availability
  • Assist in picking, packing and shipping orders out to customers or other warehouses

 Required Experience - Shipping / Receiving:

  • 1+ years experience with packaging / boxing product, labelling and generating documentation
  • 1+ years experience with reading documentation to determine packing and shipment requirements, counting and signing off on process steps
  • 1+ years experience transacting shipments in UPS, FedEx, DHL portals
  • Proficient with use of internet
  • Proficient with email
  • Proficient with chat type program / Microsoft Teams
  • Familiarity with LTL trucking: setting up shipments, BOL, documentation, etc

Preferred Experience:

  • Forklift Certified; able to operate forklift and scissor lift to unload/load packages into truck.
  • Ability to read and understand instructions related to shipping and packing
  • Ability to make shipping related telephone calls and track / follow up on shipments with carriers


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to handle and feel material, as well as reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
