Job Summary:

The Senior Accountant will have primary responsibility for the inventory, fixed asset, and cost accounting aspects of Alluxa, a technology company that provides specialized optical filters and thin-film precision coatings for the most challenging applications in the industrial technology, life sciences, and semiconductor markets. Responsibilities will also include participation in the financial reporting, internal control (SOX), and analysis of financial results for Alluxa and supporting monthly, quarterly, and annual Enpro reporting requirements.  The individual will work closely with Alluxa CFO and other leaders to provide analysis to support continued growth. Strong written and verbal communication skills and effective interpersonal skills are critical.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Perform periodic analysis of cost of goods sold and gross margin and report findings to Alluxa management
  • Reconcile inventory, fixed assets, and other accounts on a periodic basis, including calculation and analysis of inventory balances and E&O reserves
  • Perform general ledger (GL) accounting for Alluxa cost centers including preparation of journal entries and other activities around the monthly accounting close process.
  • Assist in preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting packages, including quarterly SOX analysis to support Enpro requirements
  • Participate in monthly forecasting and annual operating plan/budget process to support Enpro requirements
  • Be responsible for all vendor payments as well as approve disbursement listings
  • Assist Supply Chain with all inventory processes including inventory receiving, cycle counting and a full physical count, including monitoring and leading root cause/correction action for variances
  • Manage the fixed assets and depreciation of the Company, including budget v. actual analysis on capital spend
  • Participate in internal and external audits
  • Ensure accuracy of Manufacturing Execution System and general ledger system

Minimum job requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business with an emphasis in accounting
  • 5+ years of prior accounting work experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to apply knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
  • Ability to research, compile, analyze, and interpret data
  • Strong computer skills, including detailed working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters or equivalent graduate degree in accounting
  • CPA or CPA candidate with demonstrated progress toward gaining license
  • 5+ years of experience in accounting in a manufacturing environment
  • Prior experience in working with and analyzing data from ERP and consolidation software modules
  • Prior experience with internal control over financial reporting in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX)
