Rubber Fab is the leader in sanitary seals, hoses and validation products for the food, beverage, dairy and pharmaceutical industries. We carry specialized products such as Detectomer®, Smart Gasket®, and Tuf-Steel®. Rubber Fab is looking for a Quality Technician to join their team in Sparta, NJ.
GENERAL NATURE OF JOB: The Quality Technician is responsible for inspection and measurement of both incoming materials and final inspection of product before shipping. An emphasis on review of documentation and material certificates to ensure traceability of materials and retention of accurate quality records.
Approves incoming materials by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; rejecting and returning unacceptable materials.
Approves finished products by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; returning products for re-work; confirming re-work.
Documents inspection results by completing nonconformance reports and logs; summarizing re-work; inputting data into quality database.
Works with suppliers to obtain missing certificates or documentation when necessary
Educate production team members on quality control issues and department managers to improve overall product quality and company safety.
Assist with the return of nonconforming material to suppliers and corrective/preventative action program.
Conducts surface finish measurements using a Profilometer to create RA certificates.
Conducts final inspection of order to ensure accuracy of product and certifications to reduce errors and returns
Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor. MAXIMUM WEIGHT TO BE LIFTED: 35 lbs. (anything over 35 lbs requires two people or mechanical device)

Quality inspection experience in manufacturing
