JOB SUMMARY:

The Quality Engineer leads the efforts of the organization to ensure compliance to the Company’s quality policy, Quality Management System Certifications, assist to develop and implement the quality policy and procedures and systems, supports the quality process for the entire product line from supplier to customer.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Responsible for maintaining and improving the Quality Management system per ISO 9001, AS9100, FAA & Customer Requirements.
  • Assists in trainings to ensure compliance to quality policy, standards, and requirements throughout the organization.
  • Responsible for reviewing, communicating, and ensuring all customer contractual requirements are being met by the organization.
  • Communicates quality standards and expectations to employees, suppliers, and customers.
  • Responsible for coordinating MRB activities by working with manufacturing engineering, design engineering, production control and customers.
  • Tracks, analyzes, and interprets quality data and develops an action plan to improve KPI performance throughout the organization.
  • Responsible for maintaining metrics for the performance of the organization including obtaining, evaluating, and distributing customer scorecards.
  • Assist to manage the supply base including audits, approvals, and monitoring performance.
  • Responsible for managing the corrective action system including leading problem-solving activities.
  • Participates and leads in FMEA, Risk Mitigation, Process Control Plans
  • Responsible for Continuous Improvement projects to improve the effectiveness of Quality Management System, associated processes, key metrics, cost of non-conformances, and in turn enhances customer value.
  • Implement automated inspection and data collection processes at the point of operation.
  • Works closely with the Production team to improve production processes

  

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Performs any other assigned duty as directed by management.

 

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 5+ years Quality Assurance experience in a CNC machining & assembly manufacturing environment required
  • In-depth knowledge of ISO9001 and AS9100 required
  • Aerospace experience is highly preferred.
  • A basic understanding of manufacturing special processes such as heat treat, anodizing, NDT, etc.
  • Must have working knowledge of SPC and lean principles and problem-solving (A3, 8D, 5 whys, fishbone, etc.)
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in a professional and concise way, both verbally and electronically.
  • Must be proficient in basic inspection techniques (micrometers, calipers, surface plate inspection, optical comparators, etc.)
  • Must have knowledge of gauge calibration techniques and requirements.
  • Must be detail-oriented.
  • Must have excellent near vision.
  • CMM experience is a plus.
  • Advanced computer skills are preferred.
