JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for managing a team to conduct the quality assurance of products, systems, or materials to make sure there are no defects, and ensure quality is in line with company or national and international standards. Also responsible for investigating and setting standards for quality, health, and safety, and analyzing the effectiveness of processes and quality management systems.

Responsible for leading of continuous process project improvements as well as executing current approved projects within the many facets of the organization.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

  • Contribute to the identification and evaluation of current policies and business processes that are in the scope of the Quality Management System; contribute to the design of the QMS; provide specialist quality management input to the drafting of new policies and procedures, and design of business processes ;contribute to the quantification of the costs and business benefits of change.
  • Validate new or existing complex test methods and procedures; identify issues and recommend improvements to contribute to further development.
  • Explain the local action plan to support team members in their understanding of what needs to be done and  how this relates to the broader business plan and the organization's strategy, mission and vision; motivate people to achieve local business goals.
  • Identify shortcomings in existing processes, systems, and procedures, and use established change management programs to address them. Lead, plan, perform and implement process improvement initiatives
  • Identify, within the team, instances of non-compliance with the organization's policies and procedures and/or relevant regulatory codes and codes of conduct, reporting these and escalating issues as appropriate.
  • Collate and analyze data using pre-set tools, methods, and formats. Involves working independently.
  • Assist with stakeholder engagement by arranging actions, meetings, events, and supporting materials to promote stakeholder understanding and commitment.
  • Respond to personal objectives and use performance management systems to improve personal performance. OR Monitor the performance of the team; allocate work and review completion, take appropriate corrective action to ensure timeliness and quality; contribute to formal individual performance management and appraisal.
  • Provide coaching to team members to develop their skills.
  • Track budgets and report variances to more senior colleagues.

 JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, Marketing, or relevant industrial experience or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years or experience providing leadership to Quality, Continuous Improvement, or other applicable disciplines.
  • ISO 9001 required
  • Previous Manufacturing experience
  • Possesses a "can do" attitude with a willingness to learn and to be developed
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient competency with Microsoft Suite

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Office and Manufacturing Floor Position: Ability to perform sedentary work, spending extended periods of time working with a computer.
