Are you seeking  to grow our career with Garlock Sealing Technologies? Rubber Products Department is hiring a Production Planner & Inventory Control to assist with the planning material and labor schedules through entire production process.  The ideal candidate will also implements plans while managing capacity constraints to achieve customer delivery and inventory goals. 

 ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

  • Review forecasts for independent demand items.  Monitors and manages master demand schedule to achieve customer delivery compliance. 

  • Responsible for creating, managing and maintaining the Master Production Schedule and work orders utilizing manpower and equipment capacity constraints. 

  • Manage the status of customer orders and make decisions to ensure customer satisfaction. 

  • Analyze and interpret Key Performance Indicators to identify and execute plans for improvement.   

  • Develop continuous improvement plans and policies in conjunction with departmental personnel. 

  • Lead and participate in Continuous Improvement events to implement Lean concepts such as Kanban and visual management systems. 

  • Work to optimize asset utilization and production efficiencies by level loading and setting appropriate stocking levels. 

  • Communicate with Purchasing, Manufacturing, Logistics and Customer Service on matters relating to inventory, customer and material requirement issues. 

  • Manages and controls in tandem with Operations such items including but not limited to: 

  • Accurate Production Reporting  (Bill of Material and Router accuracy,Cycle Count Program, Return Material Authorization Program,Excess & Obsolete Inventory Management,Departments Physical Inventory Program) 
  • Responsible for developing and managing inventory levels to yearly objective goals. 

  • Manage and communicate the reporting of inventory related items including Scrap, Production and Inventory Write-offs. 

  • Work closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, Purchasing, and Customer Service to proactively resolve problems concerning schedules, production, and material deliveries. 
  • Lead the production workforce to achieve schedule requirements. 

  • Effectively manage and analyze past due items in a Pareto format and implement corrective actions.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Bachelor’s degree, or Associates Degree with 2 years of experience, or High School Diploma with 5 years of experience. 

  • Proficiency computer skills including Windows, Excel, Word, Outlook, and data analysis. 
  • Working knowledge of Oracle ERP system prefered

  • APICS (CPIM) certification preferred

  • Previous manufacturing experience prefered
