 A strong business acumen and the ability to reason through ever changing scenarios are necessities for this position including taking the initiative and the ability to anticipate problems before they happen are also essential for success in this position.   • Contributes towards a positive work environment, is a team member by working cooperatively with other Garlock departments, attending and participating in meetings and other Garlock functions. Takes ownership of orders, key member of end to end Order Management team that includes, Planning, Logistics, and any other pertinent areas.  The individual identifies with specific dynamic and needs of the Product Line or Product Lines they support (Strategy, specific needs, Processes, etc).  A “Perfect Order” starts the process to excellent delivery. 

  • Performs contract review on all aspects of the orders to ensure the accurate information is entered and products are shipped according to the customer’s request.  Advises customers of order-specific details or changes as appropriate. Consistent use of Trade Compliance to adhere to trade regulations. 

  • Processes incoming orders which may arrive via e-mail, fax, electronic means, or vendor portals.  Perfect Order Entry is achieved through aligning capabilities between Customer Service and Operations.   

  • Evaluates urgency of the customer’s requirements and coordinates with operations team to obtain less than lead time delivery dates, non-standard requests or move ups on new or existing orders.  Advises customer of special handling charges, overtime and/or other charges that may be associated with orders. 

  • Sales Order changes are made and appropriate individuals are notified of  such changes to coordinate and update all necessary paperwork, including jobs, pickers, etc. in accordance with company policy and customer requests. 

  • Point of contact between Operations team and customer and/or outside sales team on all aspects of orders such as expedites and status updates.  

  • Maintains accurate records of all sales orders. 

  • Develop and maintain a strong working knowledge of Garlock product, services, and company policies.  Continuously pursues growth and learning.  Participates in project teams to enhance process flow, efficiency, and positive impact to our communication and service,. 

  • Collaborate with Operations team and Product Line Specialist on Excess & Obsolete items and performs outbound calls to customers. Manages stocking agreements and works with the Operations team and/or Outside Sales team to ensure requirements are being met. 

  • Monitor and process all returns according to financial requirements and ensure compliance to all SOX reporting requirements.

  • Completed Associates Degree in Business required or equivalent experience 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication and listening skills
