Network Security Engineer

 Enpro is currently seeking a Network Security Engineer to join our Information Security team headquartered in Charlotte, NC.  The Network Security Engineer will be responsible for monitoring and securing the IT and OT network environments for Enpro’s Americas based businesses.

The candidate will be tasked with architecture, design, implementation and maintenance of hardware and software-based network security monitoring and protection platforms to strengthen our global organizational security posture.  The candidate will partner with IT teams across divisions to drive and support the adoption of Enpro network security standards and architecture principles.  The candidate will serve as a member of the Security Operations Team and be a key resource in support of the incident response program. 

 

Responsibilities of the Network Security Engineer:

  • Drive and support Enpro’s Palo Alto network security infrastructure and application deployments
  • Provide immediate response to major network security incidents during and after business hours
  • Support network security operational support tasks and initiatives as needed
  • Investigate and remediate network security incidents and outages, collaborating closely with other IT teams
  • Drive implementation projects of new and upgraded network and security infrastructure
  • Create and maintain network and infrastructure documentation
  • Create network security architecture standards, and support projects which align to standards
  • Support regulatory compliance projects and initiatives
  • Support assessments of organizational security, vulnerabilities, and risk
  • Conduct performance testing to stress the limitations of security solutions while at the same time ensuring business innovation and day-to-day processes are not negatively impacted
  • Focus on driving security efficiencies, enabling security team members to work on more advanced tasks.

 

Required Qualifications of the Network Security Engineer:

  • 5+ years of experience supporting Palo Alto hardware and software applications
  • 5+ years of experience supporting Cisco LAN/WAN technologies
  • Advanced experience supporting network security infrastructure (firewalls / IDS / IPS, proxies)
  • Advanced understanding of TCP/IP networking fundamentals
  • Experience securing public or hybrid cloud networking environments (AWS, Azure, etc.)
  • Experience supporting security or operational log monitoring
  • Solid understanding of cloud security risks
  • Knowledge of common cybersecurity attack patterns
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

 

Preferred Qualifications of the Network Security Engineer:

  • Industry certifications (PCNSE, PCCSE, CCNA, CCNP Sec, CISSP, GCIH, etc.)
  • Enterprise project management experience
  • Network design and architecture experience
  • Exposure to industry cybersecurity frameworks (ATT&CK, NIST CSF, Cyber Kill Chain, etc.)
  • Experience supporting industry and regulatory compliance frameworks such as ISO, DFARS, ITAR, and Sarbanes-Oxley
