Position Summary

Provide technical and machining abilities on Manual Lathes, Mills and Grinders to support effective and efficient manufacture and shipment of products to customers in a safe, environmentally friendly manner while employing EMLS (EnPro Manufacturing Learning System) principles. This would include assisting in making, backup components and new for production tooling. Work regularly with engineers and tool & die makers to review work orders and build required parts for engineering and manufacturing. Heavy involvement in continuous improvement and safety projects. This would also include assisting with machine repair, fabrication, and fork lift operation as needed.

 Job Requirements and Qualifications

Minimum Education (or Equivalent)

  X High School

  2 Years College or equivalent experience

  Bachelor’s Degree

  Master’s Degree

  PHD

  Technical Certificate or Trade School Degree

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required

  • Technical certificate/Trade School degree or equivalent relevant experience required. 
  • Basic mathematical ability
  • Skilled at problem solving individually and as a team to deliver the best solution to the business
  • Ability to review and interpret drawings, instructions, blueprints or samples to ensure accurate production.
  • Machines and equipment required to use:  Manual lathe, Manual mill, Drill press, Grinder.
  • Must be able to accurately read and comprehend written communication, as it is required to read prints and measuring tools (mics, calipers).
  • Individual will be frequently required to stand, use hands to reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and move up to 35 pounds and work in seasonal temperatures into the 90’s.
  • Previous experience driving a fork truck preferred.
  • PPE Required: Steel toe shoes, Safety glasses, hearing protection and any additional requirements specific to the department/job.
  • Will be required to complete, at a minimum the following training: ENPRO/STEMCO safety requirements, STEMCO SPQDC requirements, STEMCO standard work tool and die requirements, and Machine shop safety
  • Preferred CAD/CAM programming but not required.
