The Facility-EHS (Environmental Health and Safety) Manager will plan, organize, and direct facilities security, repairs, maintenance, and general operations. Ability to multi-task and lead projects to ensure they are completed within timeframe and budget. Responsible for driving a culture that promotes collaboration, a safe working environment, a commitment to excellence, continuous improvement, and production efficiency.
The Facility-EHS Manager must be able to meet and maintain company guidelines by performing the following essential job functions:
Plan, prioritize, assign, supervise, review, and participate in the work of staff responsible for facility maintenance
Coordinates with engineering, operations, and cross-functional teams to support facilities and equipment requirements for new product development. Implements CAPEX equipment purchases for new products and optimize safety and efficiency
Monitor the safety and security of the facility. Serves as “EH&S Compliance Officer” ensuring that appropriate staff has a thorough understanding of all applicable local, state, and federal regulations (EPA and OSHA) and that assigned site is compliant at all times
Establish and maintain all facilities maintenance and safety programs, procedures, and controls ensuring that products and services conform to company and customer standards of excellence. Develop and implement emergency contingency plans, safety communications, and routine training programs
Establish schedules and methods for providing facility maintenance services; develops and manages plans to maintain interior and exterior of assigned facilities; identify resource needs; review needs with appropriate management staff; allocate resources accordingly
Responsible for determining priorities and assigning personnel to various jobs, determining the nature and extent of maintenance and repair work to be performed and procuring needed maintenance supplies and materials, and receiving and evaluating bids and price quotes for maintenance projects.
Develop, organize, and implement the Preventative Maintenance (PM) program, procedures, and processes, and manage and maintain the Proteus Computerized Maintenance management system.
Develop, organize, and maintain the safety inspection programs for the facility and equipment. Continually improve equipment uptime metrics
Manage off-site storage facility
Responsible for compliance with the Quality Management System, and supporting the operations and engineering teams to meet customer requirements.
Communicate quality standards, requirements, and expectations to employees, suppliers, and customers. Drive the Facilities Maintenance team engagement in the DMAIC, Lean Six Sigma, Kaizen, and RCCA processes. Provide leadership for the Technetics DeLand Continuous Improvement processes and teams
Ensure communication and compliance with the Technetics Quality Policy and internal and external standards. Build and maintain a safety and quality-driven culture and adherence to the AS9100 quality standard
Select, train, develop, empower and mentor team members. Provide leadership, coaching, and individual development planning for the Facilities Maintenance team. Train or coordinate training in facility maintenance and safety methods, procedures, and techniques. Proactively support team performance and drive accountability for assigned job responsibilities for facilities maintenance
Responsible for Continuous Improvement projects to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the facilities maintenance processes, key performance metrics, and overall cost savings
As required, participate in FMEA, APQP, PPAP, Risk Mitigation, Kaizen, Process Control Plans, ROPE walks, and problem-solving projects.
Establish and maintain contact with professional societies and educational institutions by review of applicable publications, articles and abstracts to stay abreast of pertinent technical developments. Continually improve technical knowledge of product portfolio
Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, participating in professional societies
Participate in production meetings and cross-functional discussions related to product safety, quality and delivery
Performs any other assigned duty as directed by management.
Technical College/Associate Degree; 4-year degree preferred.
Basic knowledge and/or experience including plumbing, heating, refrigeration, cooling, air conditioning, electrical work, CNC equipment, and carpentry to assist and direct the work of others.
Leadership experience, including 2 years supervisory experience in building maintenance
Experience implementing, managing, and/or maintaining a Preventative Maintenance program
Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical specifications, common business documents, and industry publications. Ability to respond effectively to inquiries or complaints from manufacturing personnel. Ability to write reports or procedures; and effectively present information to management, customers, vendors, and employees
Understands and demonstrates the principles of servant leadership in a team-based manufacturing environment
This position has responsibility for 0-5 direct reports.
Performs other duties as assigned by management.
Up to 5% travel may be required
