Position Summary 

Responsible for the sales, volume, cost, pricing, product development and implementation of strategy to support the strategic objectives of the segment business unit.  Specific areas of responsibility include the development and promotion of sales, profit and cost of assigned product lines including new product development, product launch, product management, pricing strategy, market research, voice of customer, business planning and cross-functional leadership.  This role executes within a matrix organizational structure whereby cross-functional ownership exists within multiple shared services such as sales, finance, operations, engineering, and human resources.

  • Initiate and lead product development, changes and upgrades to provide technologically advanced products and continue to build and grow the STEMCO brand.  Work with cross functional teams to accomplish new product development and product iterations.   

  • Responsible for leading the organization in growing sales volume, market share gain, controlling cost and managing pricing.  Acts as the liaison between field sales and the organization to provide an efficient flow of information.   

  • Define and drive industry and segment strategy and execution through a creative and inspired vision of success.  Responsible for mitigating risks, obstacles and threats in order to provide information and research to key team members to accomplish the segment’s shared vision.   

  • Responsible for developing the business unit team through formal and informal coaching and mentoring in order to help all members reach their full creative potential.  Utilize motivational training tools and methodologies in order to help guide the team to success. 

  • Support salesforce efforts in the field by providing the tools, data, research, literature, product training and other relevant information to sales personnel.  Travel in support of sales team, customers and market research in order gather and use voice customer feedback to improve offering.   

  • Creation and tracking of customer based RFQ’s. 

  • Tracking and monitoring global market share trends quarterly. 

  • Participate on the commercial leadership team to cultivate collaboration and synergy across the business. 

 Job Requirements and Qualifications 

Minimum Education (or Equivalent) 

  High School  

  2 Years College 

 X   Bachelor’s Degree 

  Master’s Degree 


  Technical Certificate or Trade School Degree 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required 

  • The qualified individual will have a 4 year college degree and 5+ years’ experience however a Master’s Degree and 10+ years’ experience is preferred. 

  • CRM experience preferred 

  • Ability to communicate with both internal and external stakeholders/customers 

  • Ability to indirectly influence and coach  

  • Experience with face-to-face customer interactions 

  • Experience establishing pricing strategies and innovative ways to control costs for a business 

  • Product Development experience preferred 

  • Travel up to 25% monthly, to include international travel.
