In close partnership with Operation’s Manager and Customer Service, is responsible conducting overall planning, implementation, and optimization of all activities and support required for ensuring materials and services are available to meet the Operations/Production plan. Develop and maintain supplier base to meet the requirements of manufacturing facility. Evaluate supplier effectiveness and initialize necessary action to ensure quality and cost criteria are maintained within negotiated expectations.  Assisting Operations Manager to meet Supply Chain strategic objectives through process discipline/control, continuous improvement, data quality, and analytics.  Leverage ERP/MRP to create value and optimize Supply Chain processes.



  • Displays a strong knowledge of APICS Supply Chain concepts and principles, utilizing them in all decision processes.
  • Coordinate purchasing with the planner, receiving, and shipping to ensure production plan requirements are met, utilizing the MRP system to develop purchasing plans for assigned products while balancing optimizing inventory and minimizing costs.
  • Source and purchase raw materials, packaging materials, parts, services, and/or supplies necessary for operation of an organization.
  • Provide reporting/analytics solutions to significantly increase visibility and real time data decision making capabilities
  • Collaborate with and build positive and productive relationships with leadership, key stakeholders, suppliers, and other functions to create and implement strategic sourcing requirements
  • Develop goals and objectives in alignment with the Plant BPD and EMLS initiatives, contributing to the achievement of organizational goals through Continuous Improvement utilizing Supply Chain and Lean concepts.
  • Conducts negotiations with potential and/or current suppliers to obtain maximum value.
  • Support new product implementation, and coordinate materials for the final release to manufacturing operations. This activity requires working closely with cross-functional project teams.
  • Maintain a strong understanding and provide back-up support for supply chain functions including planning, shipping, receiving, material handling and other duties as assigned
  • Special project assignments as required.



  • Bachelor’s Degree (Technical, Supply Chain or Business related) with minimum 3 years of Buyer experience in a manufacturing setting; or equivalent of 7 years of experience in manufacturing Supply Chain/Buyer role(s).
  • APICS CIPM certification or demonstrated applied knowledge MRP/ERP utilization, transportation, supply chain, inventory management and warehousing disciplines (required)
  • Proficient with MS Office suite – Advanced MS Excel Skills (required)
  • Strong sense of urgency & attention to detail
  • Excellent organization, communication and follow-up skills
  • Extremely high standards of excellence
  • Analytical with a methodical approach to problem solving



This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities.



Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
